The Junkyard Dog “Single Plane” Cathedral V1 Port cam is an aggressive and powerful camshaft created for aggressive street performance and street-strip applications where a carburetor or single plane intake manifold is used with cathedral port heads. This camshaft is an excellent choice for enthusiasts who want to hotrod or race a stock short block. This camshaft is designed to get maximum performance out of a single plane equipped 5.7 to 6.2 liter stock short block while still maintaining acceptable valve clearance without fly-cutting the pistons in cathedral port headed engines. However, it is still the owner’s/engine builder’s responsibility to verify sufficient clearance during installation. Also, milling of the heads, installing a thinner head gasket or installing larger diameter valves will reduce your piston to valve clearance.
