This camshaft is an excellent choice for enthusiasts who want to push their stock short block to its limits (and most likely past its limits). This camshaft is designed to get maximum performance out of a single plane equipped 5.7 to 6.2 liter stock short block while still maintaining acceptable valve clearance without fly-cutting the pistons in cathedral port headed engines (SEE PISTON-TO-VALVE CLEARANCE WARNING ABOVE) . It is the owner’s/engine builder’s responsibility to verify sufficient clearance during installation. The Rabid Junkyard Dog Extreme Nitrous Single Plane Camshaft has a very lopey idle. This camshaft is designed to be used for vehicles equipped with headers, high flow exhaust, increased stall speed torque converter and increased rear axle ratios.
