The Rabid Junkyard Dog Extreme Nitrous Camshaft for SBE “Single Plane” Rectangle Port cam is designed for people who are on a mission to spray the maximum amount of nitrous into their stock bottom end engine using a carburetor or single plane intake manifold and cathedral port heads. This camshaft is an excellent choice for enthusiasts who want to push their stock short block to its limits (and most likely past its limits). This camshaft is designed to get maximum performance out of a single plane equipped 5.7 to 6.2 liter stock short block while pushing acceptable valve clearance without fly-cutting the pistons in rectangle port headed engines (SEE PISTON-TO-VALVE CLEARANCE WARNING ABOVE) . It is the owner’s/engine builder’s responsibility to verify sufficient clearance during installation. Also, milling of the heads, installing a thinner head gasket or installing larger diameter valves will reduce your piston to valve clearance. The Rabid Junkyard Dog Extreme Nitrous Single Plane Camshaft has a very lopey idle. This camshaft is designed to be used for vehicles equipped with headers, high flow exhaust, increased stall speed torque converter and increased rear axle ratios.
